What the ?

Start Date: September 27, 2024

I almost violated my own guidelines when naming this post. Leaning toward “What the <Expletive>!.

I was enjoying a weekend morning watching some home themed FoodTV programs. I enjoy the cozy and warm settings with women cooking for their loved ones in their (staged I suppose) kitchens. Just as the marketers plan.

FoodTV has always been a controversy free zone, other than cilantro, or processed cheese. It is all about food and friends and family. Maybe competition, travel, kids. But the upcoming election has the Democrat party counting heavily on wooing the women’s vote and the FoodTV audiences for these programs are largely female.

As an aside to the Food Network, absent the Super Bowl, no one watches TV for commercials, particularly politics for weekend breakfast. So you will lose some viewers and gain none. Net loss means lower ratings and lower fees for all sponsors at a network that is already facing cost cutting measures.

As to the courting of female voters, there are many topics that concern women, such as not being able to afford groceries for their kids, live in safe neighborhoods, or buy a home. Many cities are overwhelmed by migrants living in what were parks and gyms for local children. School choice. So many problems to consider.

Yet it seems that the overarching issue Democrats want to address to women is abortion. So they ran an ad on a morning cooking show, set on a rural family ranch in Oklahoma, advocating for the return of Roe v Wade. I don’t know if that is the best market, but they can spend their campaign money as they choose.

But what was unbelievably disgusting was how it was framed. Not a poor welfare mother who can’t feed or clothe another baby. Not a girl who might be a victim of violent acts by the father who doesn’t want the baby, or might be kicked out by her family. Not someone who is just starting out in a career or still in school.

No. None of that.

What they presented were young actresses portraying teens who calmly asserted that “we know that 1 in 6 of us will be raped”.

WHAT the EXPLETIVE ? !!!!!!!!

What a horrible and unimaginable notion! I do not believe that roughly 28 million American females (1/6) have been, or are to be, raped. I hope to Heaven that cannot be true. And I most assuredly don’t see that as something to tolerate. The ad campaign’s message was to accept rape as some sort of right of passage, as if they were speaking about getting teenage acne, and then present the savior as those who will provide the added trauma of experiencing an abortion.

Yes I believe a pregnant rape victim should be allowed to take a morning after pill, or whatever is needed, unless she is opposed. But more importantly the “root cause” solution is to not have a girl be raped.

SELLING RAPE AS AN EXPECTATION FOR YOUNG GIRLS IS UNCONSCIONABLE.

What about all the battles of the late 20th century. No she didn’t ask for it because she is pretty and wore a short skirt. No it isn’t because she went out after dark. Remember “Take back the night” rallies. We fought all of those fights.

Now the political left seems to want to put rape into the category of “stuff happens” just to promote what should be a concern for a small number of women given the ubiquitous access to birth control.

I keep wondering where are all the people, in particular women, who should be screaming from the rooftops. But then I realized why they can’t. The ones promoting abortion as the greatest gift they have to offer are also the ones setting up the circumstances for rape to occur.

They have to make rape negligible because they set it into motion.

They wanted to defund the police and have no-cash bail.

They put men (the ones with penises and testosterone) into girls bathrooms, gyms, and locker rooms, and let them watch little girls shower at the YWCA. They put them in your daughter’s dorm room and her sorority. They sent them into women’s prisons.

They hyper sexualize young children and expose them to graphic sexual content and behavior in elementary school. They use the term “Minor Attracted Persons” to try and convince you that pedophiles are a discriminated minority. They came up with the Balenciaga fashion ad displaying a little girl holding a teddy bear in bondage, along with a news clipping about child pornography.

They tell girls to be good losers to the naked guy in front of whom they have to strip down and then get beaten in a women’s sport.

So it is only consistent that they should convince young girls to expect to be raped. So the good news is the “progressives” will help you get an abortion after its over? This borders on a variant of Munchausen-by-proxy syndrome where someone, usually a parent, harms their child to get attention and sympathy for themselves. But in this case an entire demographic of young girls is intentionally put at risk of life altering trauma so another group can gain power from their victimization.

As I, almost, said. “What the <Expletive> !
